Is Amazon Retail’s Permanent Disruptor?

The results are in. According to Google Trends data, Amazon.com’s website traffic increased over 100% in the first 24 hours of Prime Day vs. the average traffic over the past five days, and the sale period of 48 hours is up 33% over 36 hours in 2018.

This year, Amazon’s ecommerce revenue will grow by nearly 26 percent, reaching $483.96 billion. The real question for retailers: what can be done in response? WD Partners’ newest WayfinD issue uses the annual Prime Day event as a springboard into several Amazon-related topics.
